Description
"The most beautiful things are shaped by their history."
She has stood in hallways where secrets were whispered, in gardens where the light fell golden and slow. She carries the memory of every hand that touched her.
Carved from solid wood and kissed by decades of living, this candle holder arrives already storied. White paint clings to her surface like a ghost of a former life. Her metal spike, kissed by rust, holds your candle the way only something ancient knows how: with absolute certainty.
Her carved silhouette — classic, deliberate — speaks of history and craftsmanship. She is the piece in the room that makes people stop and ask: where did you find her?
⸻
Reclaimed Architecture
These candle holders are crafted from reclaimed timber: salvaged from traditional homes, factories, and palaces before they were lost to demolition or time. She may have once been an architectural element, a hand-turned furniture leg, or an industrial textile bobbin — known in Dutch as a klos — spun on a manual lathe by hands that never imagined she'd end up here, glowing in your home.
Local artisans rescued these durable hardwoods — teak, sal, mango — and gave them a second life.
⸻
Traces of the Past
The chips, the cracks, the remnants of white paint, the rust on her metal spike: these are original marks from her previous life as a structural element or piece of furniture.
⸻
Spiritual Significance
Heavy, stable candle holders like this one are often used to accompany religious rituals, family gatherings, and daily temple prayers. Use them with large wax candles to symbolise the sacred fire during your ceremonies, a reminder of sacred life force & holy light.
